Route:
From Carlazzo (446 m) you follow the road to Cusino (767 m) in Val Cavargna. At the beginning of the town turn right following the sign in the direction of Alpe Logone. The paved road winds its way up among beech woods and pastures with a beautiful view of the Val Cavargna. After about 3 km you arrive in front of the gates of Alpe Logone 1.137 m where you will notice the signs of the 50 km long hiking trail “Il Sentiero delle 4 Valli” which is marked with red – white – red signs with a number 3 crossed with a red stripe. You will follow this itinerary as far as Alpe Erba. You cross Alpe Logone in a straight line. This beautiful grassy saddle connects Val Cavargna with Val Sanagra. Take care to close the gates and not to damage the grass (we suggest to walk). On the other side of Alpe Logone a steep mule track leads down to Spino 1.040 m on the road that connects Naggio and Alpe Erba. You take to the left and follow the cart track that ascends lightly to Alpe Erba 1.190 m deep into the Val Sanagra. Who wishes can from here proceed on the cart track to Alpe Levea 1.308 m. You cycle back the same way you came as far as Spino. From here you descend to Monti di Grandola where there are some "Crotti" - typical restaurants where local food is served - You then pass the church S. Rocco in the area called La Comuna 761 m before reaching the road connecting Naggio with Carlazzo. Before continuing to the right we highly recommend a visit of the beautiful hamlet Naggio 657 m. to the left. A stroll through its little alley ways to the small picturesque piazza is a must. You then continue back to Carlazzo passing through the hamlet Gottro with its beautiful church S. Giorgio located near the cemetery, slightly outside of the hamlet.
